Everybody finds their own way of treating people. Some will use their intuition, others do it by the book. I don't think there is a good or a bad way. But I do think that there is a difference in how you are going to experience a treatment. If you want to have a treatment I recommend that you will find someone that you feel comfortable with. Perhaps you need someone that acts like a doctor, or maybe you are looking for someone that you can easily talk to as if they were your friend. This is a very personal decision; so trust your instinct.
On this page you can read how I give a Reiki treatment. I do not have to know if there are areas that are bothering you. It doesn't make a difference for the treatment. But if you want to talk to me before the treatment I am always open to discuss whatever is on your mind. Once you are on the massage table all treatments are the same.
I have a room especially decorated for the Reiki treatments. The lights will be dimmed, I will have some candles and incense burning and there will be relaxing music playing in the background. For me it si my safe haven; a plce where I can completely relax.
I will always explain to you what I am going to do during the treatment. And you can read this below.
The treatment
I will be sitting at the end of the table where your head will be. You will be lying on your back. I will place both my hands on your shoulders to 'ground' you. As of that moment both my hands will stay at each position for three minutes.
These positions are
top of your head
above your face
over your ears
under your head
under your chin/neck
the top of your chest
the middle of your chest
your lower abs
your right arm
your knees
your ankles
Then I will ask you to turn over to your front site
your shoulder blades
the middle of your back
your lower back
your left arms
your knees on the back
the bottom of your feet
When during the treatment I might feel or sense that there is an area that needs more attention I will place my hands on that area. This will be either during or after the treatment.
Treatment while you are sitting in a chair
You will be sitting in a chair and I will be standing behind you. I will ask you to place your hands on your knees with your palms facing up. I will put my hands on your shoulders to 'ground' you. Then I will place my hands three minutes per position on the following parts of your body
the top of your head
over your eyes
over your ears
the back of your head
under your chin/neck
Here is where the treatments will differ
the top of your chest and the top of your back
the middle of your chest and back
your lower abs and lower back
hands and knees at the same time
your ankles
the bottom of your feet
After the treatment it is best to have a drink and 'come back down' into the daily routine.
What will I feel during the treatment?
Of course I would love to hear what you are feeling during the treatment. But I can imagine that you might ask yourself what I am feeling during the treatment? How do I know if there are areas that bother you?
My experiences so far have been the same. My feet and hands feel very hot. You are able to feel this when I am touching you. There is a little vibration in my muscles. This is a sign for me that the energy is flowing well. When I am around an area in which your are experiencing pain my hands get even hotter and I can feel a tingling sensation in my fingers. So I will know that this area needs more energy. Sometimes it isn't so much a physical feeling I get but more like a 'knowing'. Don't ask me how that works, I have learned not to question this feeling but to act upon it.

How many treatments will you need?
It depends on whether or not you have specific complaints and the nature of these complaints. To start of with I can advice you to have four treatments in a short time; this way you are giving your body a real energy-boost.
But a Reiki treatment can also be good to relax and feel energized.
How much does it cost?
It depends from person to person. Some people have their own business and accordingly have more costs. You can't really tell whether someone is good or bad according to the price they ask. Someone who asks a high price doesn't have to better than someone else. You don't pay for the energy; you pay for their time and expences. You just have to figure out what you can pay and how much you are willing to pay and then find someone you feel at ease with. That is really the most important thing. Ask questions if you need or want to and go with your gut!
